Ordering The Kit

Where’s my kit?

Kits will ship on the 16th of September, and for a couple of days afterwards. You will get a shipping notification, and if you’ve chosen a tracked shipping option then you’ll also get your tracking information then.

If your kit has shipped, and hasn’t arrived in a normal amount of time then please drop us an e-mail. Please include your order number so we can help as quickly as possible.

My kit is missing a sample or sachet?

Oh no! We’re very sorry and please drop us an e-mail. Please include your order number, and we’ll reship what’s missing as quickly as possible.

What if I order other items alongside a Tasting Kit?

If you order other items with your Tasting Kit, then they’ll ship separately. The Tasting Kit will be held until the production and shipping date of the 16th September while other items will ship straight after roasting.

Preparing For The Event

Where do I buy water?

Distilled or deionised (de-ionized) water is purified water available to purchase from many different stores, including online platforms, supermarkets and hardware stores. In the UK, Tesco has deionised water available to purchase inexpensively.

Which water should I buy?

If you are struggling to locate distilled or deionised water, or would rather not use it, look for a soft water with a low ppm of less than 30. You will find this information listed on bottled water labels where the number after 'dry residue @ 180°c' equals the ppm. Should you prefer to not use Third Wave Water minerals at all, we recommend you use Volvic or Filtered water from a local cafe for the best results.

Is this water safe?

Yes. Once the Third Wave Water mineral sachet is added to distilled / de-ionised water it is safe to a drink. The minerals in the sachet are ones found in all types of mineral waters.

How do I make the Third Wave Water?

Mix 1 sachet of Third Wave Mineral Supplement into 3.8l of distilled or deionised water and shake well. Find out more about what they offer at www.thirdwavewater.com. When mixed into purified water, Third Wave Water mineral supplements enhance the extraction of coffee, therefore, improving flavour in the cup. This process only works with very soft water.

When should I grind my coffee?

Any time in the hour or so before the event should work well. You can do it earlier if you’re going to be getting up super early for the event, and there’ll also be some time at the start of the event to do some grinding too.

I can’t make it for the live event - will the video be available afterwards?

Yes! The video will be available for anyone to watch within about 10-15 minutes of the event finishing. So if you can’t make it you can still taste alongside us at a time that suits you!
